Song: Fur Elise
Artist: Beethoven
Tabbed by: [email protected]
Tuning: standard (low to high) EADBGE
Tabber’s Notes: Okay note this song is mainly compromised into two sections, part A, and part B. This is a part that requires the use of a 24-fret guitar. In other words you‘re screwed if you don’t have one. I learned how to play this on a 21 fret. So just use the highest fret you have and it will sound close. First off, I’m going to give you the original piece, then I will give you a bad ass solo piece to work on. J
Tab Key: h= hammer on
p= pull off
/= slide UP
= slide DOWN
[]= palm mute
>= bend string DOWN one semi tone
<= bend string UP one semi tone
Part A: This is the beginning and the very famous lick that just about everyone knows, sort of. You can play this piece with or without distortion.
Play twice
| E|---12-11-12-11-12--------------------------------------------------------------------|
| G|----------------------- 12-15-13----------------------12-------------12-13----------|
| B|------------------------------------14---------------14-------------13-----------------|
| D|---------------------------------------------------14-------------14-----------------14|
| A|--------------------------------------------12-15-------------11-----------------12---|
| E|----------------------------------------12------------------12-----------------12------|
| E|---12-11-12-11-12--------------------------------------------------------------------|
| G|----------------------- 12-15-13----------------------12-----------13-12------------|
| B|------------------------------------14---------------14----------------------14--------|
| D|---------------------------------------------------14-------------14--------------------|
| A|--------------------------------------------12-15-------------11-----------------12---|
| E |----------------------------------------12------------------12-----------------12------|
Now this is part B:
| E|--------------12-------------13-12-10--------12----------------------------------------12|
| G|--12-13-15-------------12------ ----------------15-13------------15-13-12-------------|
| B|----------------------10----------------------------------------------------------------------|
| D|------------------10------------------------15-------------------14----------------14-14--|
| A|------------------------------------------14------------------12-----------------------------|
| E |-----------------------------------------------------------12---------------------12---------|
| E|----12-24--------10-12---------11-12-11---|
| G|-------------------------------------------------|
| B|-------------------------------------------------|
| D|-------------------------------------------------|
| A|-------------------------------------------------|
| E |-12------11-12---------11-12----------------|
Play half of part A, then B again.
Then play half of part A with this last modified line
| E|-12-11-12-11-12-----------------------------------------------------|
| G|-------------------12-15-13------------------12-------13-12-------|
| B|------------------------------14------------14-----------------14----|
| D|------------------------------------------14-----------14-------------|
| A|-----------------------------------12-15-----------11-------------12|
| E| -------------------------------12---------------12--------------12--|
| E|-8---8----8--|
| G|-----------0--|
| B|-9----10--0--|
| D|-10--10-10--|
| A|-10--12-13--|
| E |---------------|
Yes the last part seems like an impossibility, but you’ll have to adjust the way you put pressure on the strings. I figured it out in about two minuets so it isn’t that hard.
Okay here is the solo for heavy distortion, or light.
Part A: Repeat twice.
| E|--->12p11h12p11h12--------------------------------------------------------------------|
| G|----------------------- 12h15p13----------------------12-------------<12-13r----------|
| B|------------------------------------14---------------14-------------13-----------------|
| D|---------------------------------------------------14-------------14------------------14|
| A|--------------------------------------------12h15-------------11-------------------12---|
| E|----------------------------------------12------------------12-------------------12------|
| E|--->12p11h12p11h12r--------------------------------------------------------------------|
| G|----------------------- -12h15p13----------------------12-----------<13-12r------------|
| B|------------------------------------14---------------14-------------------------14--------|
| D|---------------------------------------------------14-------------14--------------------|
| A|--------------------------------------------12h15-------------11-------------------12---|
| E |----------------------------------------12------------------12--------------------12------|
Part B:
| E|--------------12--------13p12p10-----------12------------------------------------------12|
| G|--12h13h15----------- -------------------------15p13------------15p13p12-------------|
| B|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| D|------------------------------------------[15]--------------------14----------------14-14---|
| A|------------------------------------------[14]------------------12----------------------------|
| E |-----------------------------------------------------------12---------------------12----------|
| E|----12-24-11h12-------10h12--11h12-------11h12p11---|
| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
| B|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
| D|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
| A|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
| E |-----------------------------------------------------------------|
Now play all of part A again, then play part B, and finally half of part A.
Pause wherever you want to. This adds more flavor to the solo.

Peace,
Paul Gaddis
