From: Bryson Meunier
Subject: TAB:"Agamemnon" by violent femmes
I transcribed this song for two guitars. It doesn't really make
sense since the femmes only have one guitarist but on the cd it distinctly
sounds like two guitars. The femmes played this song when I saw them live in
Columbus, Ohio during the New Times tour so I should know how many guitars
they used but I wasn't really paying attention to the guitar arrangements as
much I was jumping up and down. Anyway, this is what I have for "Agamemnon,"
whether it's correct or not. E-mail me with corrections, additions, questions
or comments at [email protected]

I am a moralist
an anti-militarist
I am against duels
I cannot stand seeing a fly in rage
I cannot look at a uniform or blood
C#5
That woman has seduced me
And now I am done for(2x)

Darling where shall I
hide you in a hurry(2x)
(chorus)
(continue chorus riff)
I am coming
Directly from the trenches
And look forward
To a solemn luncheon
(continue verse riff)
Oh my nerves!
I'm losing my mind(2x)
B5
This damned telephone
Spoils my favorite position
C#5
And now I can start
Writing poetry again
(End on vocal ad lib. Experiment and have fun with the outro. That's all
the femmes are doing, really. It just sounds like Gordon is making agreeable
noise with the guitar by moving his fingers all over the fretboard while
speed-picking(mostly around the nineteenth fret).Experiment and then end).
