Not sure if this counts as classical, but I sang it for my "Classical: choir final. I have a Vocal Contest coming up, and I'm singing Jay Althouse's Medium/High arrangement of Homeward Bound (originally by Marta Keen). If anyone could make me a MIDI of this song, I would be very grateful. I used to have the music for the medium/low version, but I no longer have it; otherwise, I would make the MIDI myself. Thanks for any help!! |

You can buy the book along with the accompaniment book at sheetmusicplus.com. It has many other pieces in the book that are also good. I think it is called Folk songs for soliists or something like that.

Hey there, broadway_diva.
Sorry, I couldn't find you the exact arrangement you're looking for. However, I did find a MIDI of a newer arrangement, with an extra stanza. It's a little different (this seems to be a soprano/bass arrangement, and because of the extra stanza, the "Bind me not to the pasture" part is a bit different from the norm), but other than that, it's basically the same song. Thankfully, upon reading the file in Anvil Studio, the file DOES include the lyrics for the extra part. I'll post the entire lyrics so you know where the extra part comes in:
HOMEWARD BOUND
In the quiet misty morning
When the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing
And the sky is clear and red,
When the summer's ceased its gleaming,
When the corn is past its prime,
When adventure's lost its meaning,
I'll be homeward bound in time.
Bind me not to the pasture,
Chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling
And I'll return to you somehow.
[EXTRA PART]
When the sun is slowly setting
And the day is nearly through,
While my troubles I'm forgetting,
I'll be homeward bound to you.
[END EXTRA PART]
If you find it's me you're missing,
If you're hoping I'll return,
To your thoughts I'll soon be list'ning,
And in the road I'll stop and turn.
Then the wind will set me racing
As my journey nears its end
And my path I'll be retracing
When I'm homeward bound again.
Bind me not to the pasture,
Chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling
And I'll return to you somehow.
In the quiet misty morning
When the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing,
I'll be homeward bound again.
I'll be homeward bound again.

Hope this works for ya. Personally, I like this version better!
